EMERGENCY APPEAL - HELP FEED CHILDREN
Children haven’t eaten in days. Many may not be able to cry because they no longer have the strength.
Children are supposed to run and play.
But what happens when there’s no energy left to run?
Hunger doesn’t wait.
And neither can we.
This isn’t a story from the past. This is the condition of women and children right now.
The brutal attacks have killed nearly 43,000 people and injured over 90,000. More than 1.8 million residents have been forced to flee their homes with nowhere to run that is safe. Residential buildings, public areas, schools, agricultural sites, places of worship and medical facilities have all been targeted.
Home to 2 million people, it is one of the most densely populated cities on Earth. One-third live below the poverty line, and after 16 years of blockades and attacks, the two million residents have been plunged into abject poverty. 80% of the population relies on aid for their survival, with food, medication, water, and electricity supplies at an all-time low.
A Crisis the World Is Looking Away From
Innocent children are trapped. They once again live with the horror of airstrikes looming over them.
Many humanitarian organisations continue to describe it as the world’s largest open-air prison, a rigidly controlled strip of land with very little opportunity for movement, escape or growth.
Air strikes have destroyed tens of thousands of homes, with 4 in 5 people having to flee their homes. Many have been forced to seek shelter in dozens of schools and hospitals. To make matters worse, the healthcare system is on the brink of collapse, due to widespread destruction and damage of hospitals
Just as our brothers & sisters refuse to succumb to illegal occupation, we must proudly stand in solidarity with the oppressed.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever relieves a Muslim of distress, Allah will relieve him of distress on the Day of Resurrection.”
